Brighton Skate is a short documentary that captures the energy, creativity and sense of belonging within Brighton’s roller-skating community. The film follows Polly, a passionate skater who discovered the sport during lockdown as a form of escapism. What began as a personal outlet soon evolved into a lifestyle and a powerful source of connection.
Through expressive visuals, intimate moments and a spoken word narration, Brighton Skate explores how roller-skating provides both freedom and community. The film celebrates individuality, joy and movement while offering an insight into human connection and the importance of shared spaces where people come together through creativity and passion. It shines a light on how this community nurtures confidence, belonging and collective positivity.
